MedStep, DentStep and PharmStep and Biopharmaceutical Sciences degree programs Joint programs with West Virginia University The MedStep, PharmStep, and DentStep programs are joint programs with West Virginia University that provide for a seamless transition from Shepherd University into the these professional programs at West Virginia University. The MedStep and DentStep programs require graduation from Shepherd while the PharmStep program is a two year program with transfer to West Virginia University. Students make application to these programs while seniors in high school at the time they make application for admittance to Shepherd. Admission into the program requires an interview with faculty from the West Virginia University Schools of Medicine, Pharmacy or Dentistry respectively. Students currently enrolled at Shepherd University are not eligible to apply In addition to the above programs, beginning fall 2009 Shepherd is offering a Biopharmaceutical Sciences B.S. degree. This degree requires three years at Shepherd followed by three years at West Virginia University School of Pharmacy. Students who successful complete the six year degree program will have a B. S. in Biopharmaceutical Science from Shepherd and a degree in Pharmacy from West Virginia University. A separate application to the West Virginia University School of Pharmacy is required in a student's third year at Shepherd.
