Jake Burton is one of the most influential people in snow boarding, not for his riding abilities, but for the products he has created for the sport. Burton snow board company has been serving the snow board community with top of the line equipment for 29 years. It is thanks to Jake Burton that the sport of snow boarding is where it is today. Back in 1979 when Jake introduced the first modern style snow board, since then he has continued to improve on the style and technology of snow boards and snow board equipment. Burton has also sponsored numerous snow boarding competitions, giving the sport a chance to expand in the way that it did.
