Basic Information

Turning and Stopping are the two most essential maneuvers in snow boarding. Below are instructions of how to perform each of these moves.

Turning- turning is done with you back foot. The rider leans into the direction they wish to turn while pushing in that direction with the back foot. Turning is done a lot in snow boarding to regulate speed as you come down the mountain, learning to turn properly is essential for maintaining control of you snow board when coming down steeper hills.

Stopping- Stopping is done by sliding the back foot forward and leaning back. This may take a couple of times to perfect but stopping is the most essential maneuver in ensuring you personal safety and the safety of others on the slopes.
