The very first thing you will need to learn is if you ride on the snow board in the goofy stance or the regular stance. A regular stance is when the riders left foot is in the front of the snow board, and a goofy stance is just the opposite of that where the right foot is in front of the snow board. When determining which stance works best for you consider having you stronger leg in the back of the board because that is the one that will be doing all of your turning. Another good method in determining stance is to have someone push you from behind and whichever foot moves first to stop you from falling should go facing the front of the board.
