About Reflexology

Reflexology, also known as Zone Therapy, is a practice that applies pressure to areas in the foot and hand by using the thumb and hand techniques to zone areas located in the foot and hand.  The science of Reflexology believes that through the feet and hands there is a mini map of the entire body. The right foot is different from the left foot in mapping. The right foot represents the right side of the body and left foot represents the left side of the body but the hand map represents the whole body. Through the zone points reflexology techniques help trigger relief to the related body parts. In the feet the big toe represents the neck and head. The toes represent the areas of the head such as; eyes, ears, nose, and mouth. The zone area at the heel of the foot on each left and right foot is the trigger point for the sciatic nerve in the back. The middle of the foot is all other organs located to the right or left in the body.
In the hand the thumb on the hand represents the neck and head, whereas the fingers like the toes are areas of the head such as; the eyes, ears, nose, and mouth. The center of the hand represents the rest of the body.
