Manager, Case and Rigging Divisions

Patrick joined Welsh Sound in 2001.  He carries a degree in Technical Theater from Otterbein College in Westerville, Ohio and has been working in professional theater since 1993.  Outside of his employment with Welsh Sound, he is the Production Manager for Shepherd University (www.shepherd.edu/theaterweb ) and for the Contemporary American Theater Festival (www.catf.org)  In 2007, Patrick and Dave welded the current Welsh Sound mobile stage in a snowstorm and 20 degree days.  It was quite the experience. 

In his other professional endeavors, Patrick is the First Vice Chair of USITT Chesapeake (www.usittchesapeake.org), a professional technical theater organization that promotes networking, communication and new ideas in the industry.  He is thrice published though USITT National by his participation in the biannual Tech Expo, a competition of unique solutions to technical theater challenges.  

As Welsh Sounds lead Rigger, Patrick has had the chance to attend a number of specialized classes around the nation including a Motor School from Mountain Productions, Allen/ATM Flyware Tent rigging workshops, Stage Rigging with Bill Sapsis and Jay Glerum though USITT National, Arena Rigging with Harry Donavan though USITT National, and Special Rigging Situations with Bill Sapsis though USITT Chesapeake.

In his honest spare time, Patrick enjoys pinup photography, fashion of the 1940’s, steam locomotives, art deco design and wood boats.  To forget it all, he is known to zip off on a Yamaha Seca 750.
