What I'm Doing Now
I am a Professor in the Institute of Environmental and Physical Sciences
at Shepherd University, and the university's
astrophysicist (overseeing the Shepherd University Observatory and teaching numerous courses in astronomy, physics, and physical science). My primary research areas are the large-scale structure of the Universe, galaxy evolution,
and the history of astronomy/astronomy education. I serve as the university's Director of Strategic Research Initiatives, focusing on the further development and enhancement of the institution's emerging research agenda. I am also a member of the American Council on Education Fellows Class of 2015-16.
I currently serve in a number of additional capacities, including:
Hub Leader (Shepherd U), Pulsar Search Collaboratory
Steering Committee Member and Campus Representative, West Virginia Science Public Outreach Team
Executive Committee Member, Shepherd University Foundation
Chair, Shepherd University Institutional Review Board
Alternate Faculty Representative, West Virginia Advisory Council of Faculty
My office hours during the academic year are MWF 9a-11a.
