Introduction

 Students will use the internet to navigate and find information to examine the fitness benefits of multiple forms of physical activity.   Students will be given websites to visit that will increase their knowledge and awareness of the different levels of fitness that can be obtained through physical activity.   

WV Content Standard

P.E. 6. 4.03    Students will examine the fitness benefits of a variety of physical activities. 

 


The Task

This lesson is designed for sixth grade physical education students.  Students will need to know how to navigate the internet to search for information before beginning this activity.  The students should also be familar with using and establishing a word document.

  Process

  To complete this task and help Murray learn about the fitness benefits of physical activities follow the steps below:

1.    Write the ten questions to be answered on your own paper

2.    Click on the link beside the question above

3.    Search the site to find the key information

4.    List the responses on your answer sheet

5.    Once all questions are answered construct a two page (double-spaced) paper using all the information gathered from the ten questions to persuade Murray to be more physically active.  NOTE: All information gathered must be in essay!!!

 

All sixth grade students are required to complete the designed webquest.  Students must complete the webquest and assignment independently, at home or at the school computer lab.
