Ocean City
This is the beginning of your trip or the end depending on where you started. Ocean City caters to tourists year round but is most populous during the summer holidays. According to legend, Ocean City was started by Isaac Coffin when he turned his ocean-front cottage into a place for vacationers to stay. They came by stage coach and ferry to fish and collect sea shells from the sandy shores. Whether the people of Ocean City knew it or not at the time, but Isaac Coffin’s Inn was the beginning of a new era. Soon other boarding houses were built and the attention of businessmen from Philadelphia and Baltimore was gained.
Today there are a lot more activities for tourists. Some of the more energetic attractions include amusement parks, go karts, water parks, arcades, miniature golf, skydiving, air tours, skating, bicycle/rollerblade rentals and horse racing. But, Ocean City provides leisure for everyone as well. With beautiful views of the Atlantic Ocean tourists can listen to the tranquil melodies of the waves as they crash against the shore.
Are you hungry? Ocean city has an unlimited variety of tasteful foods. From traditional BBQ all the way to sushi, this vacation spot has it all. You also can’t go wrong with the many all-you-can-eat seafood buffets. If you come here hungry, you’ll definitely leave happy.
Annapolis
Drive through Maryland’s state capital via Route 50 on your way to Washington, DC. Ever since Annapolis was a capital in the colonizing days of this country it has been known as the “Athens of America.” Her small seaport welcomed visitors from all over the world.
If you’re looking for Jack Sparrow you might want to try Pirate Adventures on the Chesapeake, an amusement park with high approval ratings. And if you’re not into the pirate scene but would still like the thrill of the rollercoaster, there is a Six Flags America in the area as well. Before you leave this town you need to check out the list of events for the performing arts center. Each month there is a new theme presented.
It would be a shame to leave Annapolis before trying one of their top three rated restaurants. Lemongrass is a Thai cuisine restaurant suitable for any size family. Lewnes Steakhouse has the best hearty steaks around. If your man likes a juicy steak, or even yourself, then Lewnes Steakhouse is where you need to be. Then, if you like sushi you can always try Joss Café & Sushi Bar. It has a great sushi menu and a great record for serving top notch sushi.
