Not far from Route 50 you will find all kinds of Civil War areas such as the Manassas National Battlefield Park and the Petersburg National Battlefield.. It would also be beneficial to go into other states such as Maryland and West Virginia to see historic battlefields. Antietam in Sharpsburg, MD is known for its haunted grounds.
There are also some other Civil War attractions aside from battlefields. There are some driving tours on the Southside of Virginia. These tours include Lee's Retreat to Appomattox, Lee's Retreat Radio Scripts, Wilson-Kautz Raid, Battle of Lynchburg and Hunter's Raid.
