The different flora that grows around Shenandoah National Park is part of the amazing beauty there. There are over 1400 species of vascular plants are found in the park, and many of these plants flower and flourish during the four distinct seasons that occur in the park. The different types of flora that inhabit the park are ferns, freshwater plants, grasses, lichens, mosses and liverworts, mushrooms and other fungi, trees and shrubs, and wildflowers.
