Survival
Main Patient Profiles Tests/Screenings Stages Treatment Resources
Just like the survival rate for any type of cancer or disease, it
depends on what stage it is in when you find it. The average five
year survival rate for people that found it when it was small and had
not spread yet was 90 %. For those who it had spread throughout
their body the five year survival rate dropped to a low 10-15%.
However, recent advances in medicines and treatments in
the past
five years are sure to raise the survival rate for both categories.
Since the cause of soft tissue sarcoma is unknown it makes
it more difficult for doctors and scientists to try to eradicate the
disease or come up with prevention methods.
