Reflection Essay

                To start my argument essay, I first started to collect a lot of information research to begin my essay.  I was really surprised by what information I did find.  Although I could not really find information to relate to Jefferson County because of the watershed site being down, I found mostly national info on it.  I did find out stuff I did not know about acid rain before.  One was how very powerful and destructive it is.  Also I did not know what caused it to fall from the sky.  I discovered that mostly Sulfur Dioxide and Nitrogen Oxides from power plants mostly form together in the atmosphere and give the moisture in the air polluted acidic effects.  When the rain falls by the moisture build up, it falls as acidic rain.  Acid rain has a pH below five point six, whereas normal rain's pH is just about at six.  Acid rain can completely destroy trees, pollute water in the environment, kill animals, plants, fish, and destroy the environment to literally nothing.  If animals or fish do not die from the rain just falling, they can die from being in or drinking the polluted water.  So the information I did collect from various resources was very crucial to me writing my argument paper, otherwise I would of totally argued the wrong points.  Which I must say I you don't know the facts about something you are going to argue before you do it, then you probably won't convince the audience you are speaking to.
