About Us

During our experiences observing children in the school setting, we as education students learned more than a textbook could ever teach us.  We learned and continue to learn that in order to be successful in the education field we must be reflective problem solvers.  As such, the mantra of the Department of Education at Shepherd University is just that—Teachers as Reflective Problem Solvers.  Thank you Dr. Burke for all of your caring as our educator; and thank you for being an example of a reflective problem solver.
