Cable Paths
Locations to route the cable were planed out. The main fiber was to run into each hall with Miller Hall serving as center. The path was measured with Mull Tape, which is made up of reinforced fibers and used to pull cables through conduits. The tape was used to measure the length of the pulls, and also to pull the fiber cable in the halls. After the fiber cable is laid in to each of the halls, the main fiber will come in to the first floor of each hall and into the rack. From each rack fiber, cable will be pulled up to the next floor, where all the fiber cables are connected to the rack on the first floor.
From the rack, the cable path would run out into the hall through the conduits that would be installed. Once the cable is in the hall, the cable would be installed above the drop tiles on the ceiling. One cable per room will be installed. This cable will be made of three Category 5 cables within the PVC cable. The cable will enter the room through a conduit that is already in the rooms in which the cable tv or the phone line has been connected. Once in the room, plastic panduit will be installed along the wall to the box.
This is an over view of the whole Shepherd College Network:

From Ikenberry Hall there is a 100-mb fiber run to Miller, then from Miller there is also 100-Mb segment running to each Shaw and Thacher Hall.
