Why – Student/Tech demand, (SGA push)

Students have been requesting that the Residence Halls be wired for several years. But this has not been pursued due to staffing and monetary shortage. The Technology Oversight Committee (TOC) has been pushing for the wiring project to be done. The Student Government Association (SGA) has requested a letter to the TOC to have Internet access in each of the rooms and SGA agreeing on an optional fee per semester.

Creating the wiring in the residence halls will not only provide the students with the opportunity to have Internet access in the residence halls, but also permit Shepherd College to become more competitive within the higher education market. Shepherd College will be able to provide the services that the students expect.
