Eel grass

Fine gravel, sand, or mud in the sea from low water spring tides down to depths of 4 meters. It is rarely found in estuaries.
Eel grass is a common marine grass. It can be found from South Carolina up to the southern edge of Green land. Eel grass tends to grow in shallow water just below the low tide line. However, if the water is clear enough to allow sunli9ght and the high tide not too severe, these plants can be found in water up to 100 ft. deep. Leaves are one- half inch wide and the entire plant can grow to be 3 ft. long.
Eel grass is a lava based plant. Anchored by a lava base, these plants cannot be uprooted and will not float up.
