Limpets are a common name
for a marine gastropod. Limpets' are a group of sea snails that can be found worldwide. These snails are identified
by having an arched, non-spiraling shell with a broad ventral opening. Limpets can be found living on rocks and
pieces of submerged timber. These limpets will cut out a region on their rock or timber as thick as their shell
and use these areas as home for their protection. Outside their home these snail will travel around using their
tongues to scrape and feed off the algae in the area.
