The Skeleton Shrimp
is a crustacean of the family Caprellidae. The common name is from its slender body structure. Most species are
predators on small animals, but some feed on organic debris. They live among eelgrass, sponges, and wharf pilings
between Labrador and the mid-Atlantic coast of the United States. It measures about 2.5 centimeters long and move
with a high-arching action similar to that of the measuring worm.
