Your job is to first read the above websites to find out more about the chain of infection.  What you will need to do is to find and create your own version of the chain of infection.  In your chain, make sure that they have each step listed and also provide an example for each step.  After you complete the cart, you will write a paragraph describing several ways in which the chain of infection can be broken.  Once you are finished, print out the assignment and hand it in.

Only one class period will be set aside for the completion of this assignment.  If you are unable to finish the webquest in the period, you may finish it at home, if you have a home computer, and bring it the next class meeting.  Each student will work by him or herself to complete the assignment.

Now that you have read about the chain of infectious diseases, here is your task.  On a piece of paper, you need to draw the chain for passing an infectious disease.  Make sure you include each link of the chain in the correct order.  The picture doesn’t have to be pretty or artistic, but do your best to make it big and neat.

After you have created your own chain, you need to come up with an example for each link.  In order to do this you may have to revisit the two websites for this section.

After you recreate the chain and list an example for each link, you can move on to learn about how to break the chain.
