FAQ

What kind of oil should I use for my 2 stroke dirt bike?

Each manufacturer has a recommended brand to use, call you local dealer or look it up in your manuel.

When buying a dirt bike from someone, what should I look for?

Feel the engine right away, then you know if they have been running it before you got there. A warm engine is quicker to start than a cold one. Check tires, chains and sprockets, bearings, dents in the pipe, ask the seller about the top end and of course, does it come with any of the stock parts.

What credentials do I need to start racing motocross?

When I raced motocross I needed to be an AMA member and a District 34 member, there were two memberships to be accounted for. I’m not sure what it is now days but I am sure that you still need to be a AMA member in good standing.

Can I get on a motocross track and not have to race?

Yes you can. Some motocross tracks let you pay a fee and come out to the track and ride all day. On days that they are not conducting races obviously.

Do I need a permit to ride up in the woods or up on the mountains?

Sometimes yes and sometimes no. Some state parks require you to register your machine. Check with your local state parks or Sheriff’s office first. In this case its is better to ask, than to go for it and get caught.
