Dragons

Green dragons usually portrays earth and acid dragons
Silver or white dragons are refered to as the dragons of the wind. They like to stay in cold mountian tops.
Gold dragons are usually the guardians or celestial creatures in the East and the only dragons with four to five legs. Red dragons are seen as dangerous and powerful

Phoenix

Chinese Pheonix Chinese: Feng-huang, kindred to the sun and feathers varied in hues that they seemed to be infused with the light of paradise; a messenger of prosperity and peace for the ages

Egyptian and Arabian: Pheonix of Arabia, larger than an eagle, head was golden and feahters that gleamed every color to be seen in flames. When nearing that, the creature creates a nest in one night and begans to sing the death song to the rising sun. When the place of the nest and the bird itself is turned to ashes, one can see a briliant baby bird amoung the ashes. “bringing life from death"

Persian: simurg, a jewel-like cearture whose feathers had powers of healing; guarded the families of Persian heros
Russian Firebird Russian: The Firebird of Russia, eyes of crystal and feather of flame; one feather could light and warm a dark room. Appears when morals are in need

West:
White stag with the body of a horse, beard of a goat and tail of a lion. The Western unicorns are the protectors of the forest and cannot be killed unless in the presence of a maiden. They also had the ability to detect poison and purify water (pg 111).
China:
Ki(male)-lin((female) are considered the beasts of the gods and are rarely seen by morals. Rivaled the European unicorn, however lacked the fierceness of a European unicorn. Ki-lin are ate no living thing nor did these harm any living entity. They are considered bringer of good fortune and wisdom (pg 114-117).
India:
Eale/Yale have a beard like a goat, as does many unicorns, but this creature has two spiraling horns (one in the back of the head and the other on the forehead). They are kept in temples to guard against evil spirits (pg 110).
Japan:
Kirin is the protectors of animals of the wild. These unicorns bows to purity and gentleness while slays that are corrupt. Kirin have a strong sense of justice and can sometimes be seen in courts of law to slay the guilty or freeing the innocent (pg 118).
