Mainly known as the goddess of the hunt. Artemis bears a bow and arrows wherever she goes. Although Artemis never rode the moon like Selene, she becomes associated with the moon (the crescent moon the most) in later period. Wild animals, healing, wilderness, chastity, and childbirth are also some others Artemis becomes associated with. Deer and cypress are the sacred creatures of Artemis. She is the daughter of Zeus and Leto and the twin sister of Apollo.
