Capsule

A capsule story takes the styling of a feature, but has different divisions to it. Most capsules are a preview for a game or a season for a particular team, usually placed in a special section of a paper.

When previewing a team for a particular season, you ask about the key losses, top returning players, newcomers to that particular team, and the outlook of the team for the season ahead.

For a game capsule, you use the key team players for each side, records, styles of play, and then an outlook of the game itself.

Both types allow for coach interviews for the story that can be done byt either over the phone lines or in person. No players on the team are needed for these kind of interviews.
