Doing a coverage story requires a keen eye, a listening ear, and an unbiased perspective on the sport you're watching.

In coverage work, this is where you go to the event, free of charge, sit in a press box or wherever comfortable, and follow the game from beginning to end.

Photography is done as well if assigned and the thrill of the game is in your field of vision.

Interviews for a coverage story are done after the event, and deadline for it varies from paper to paper, but the story shows is printed the next day.
