Dr. Anna DeVito arrived at Shepherd College in August, 1998.   Since then she has taught a number of courses in  Recreation and Leisure as well as courses in Physical Education.  Dr. DeVito advises students with specializations in Commercial Recreation and Tourism and Sports Management She received her PhD in Teaching and Curriculum from Syracuse University in May 2001.  Dr. DeVito has  given presentations on "Special Activities and Events to Liven up Your Recreation and Physical Education Programs" at state and local conferences.  While in West Virginia, she has Volunteered for Jefferson County Chapter of the American Red Cross, Good Shepherd Interfaith Caregivers , Charlestown Lions Club, Martinsburg-Berkeley County Parks & Recreation, and Berkeley County Senior Center. Before coming to Shepherd College, she taught at Delaware State University, Syracuse University, Wesley College, and for the American Red Cross in Syracuse and Dover.  In addition to teaching, Dr. DeVito has worked in Recreation for Harpers Ferry KOA, Radisson Community Association, East Syracuse Parks & Recreation, Town of Manlius Parks & Recreation, Town of Clay Parks & Recreation, North Area YMCA, BGSU Ice Arena, and City of Watertown Recreation Department.
