Who would have ever realized that the hopes and dreams of  one Polish-Jewish cosmetician Maximilian Faktorowicz  who later became known as Max Factor , would change the face of his beloved makeup with the launch of his make-up line in 1909.

Max Factor who has been called the father of modern make-up opened up his first store in a suburb of Moscow, Russia. In 1904 his family had the opportunity to relocate to the United States.  This same year actor was given the opportunity to show his make-up at the 1904 World's Fair.

By 1914, Factor had created a line of stage and movie make-up and by the 1920s he had opened a line of make-up to the public. The make-up was a hit. The rest you can say is history.

Although today the Max Factor line is not as widely popular as it has been in the past the impact it made on the make-up world will never be forgotten.
