Bigfoot
The Creature
Bigfoot is a creature that looks like an ape. Its size
ranges from seven to thirteen feet tall. It is hairy and is
said to have a human like personality. It is found all over
the world in different “varieties”. In the Alps, it is
called the Abominable Snowman. This version is the only with
white fur. In other countries it is called Yeti. In the
western states of America, it is called Bigfoot and in the
east it is called Sasquatch.
Bigfoot is believed to be a mammal, much like humans and
apes. It typically has brown/black fur. A child-sized
Bigfoot has never been seen. Bigfoot makes its home in
unpopulated mountains. It is characterized by having a large
foot. Some plasters taken of the footprints have been up to
two feet long. A live Bigfoot has never been captured, nor a
dead one found.
Bigfoot and Evolution
The question is how a creature like this could exist
without scientists knowing of it. The most logical theory is
that Bigfoot is just an unevolved human or an evolved
primate. This would explain how the same creature could
exist all over the world. The shy nature of the creature
keeps it from being found by scientists.
Paleontologists have actually found fossils of a creature
that is very similar to Bigfoot. It is named Gigantopithecus.
The fossils date back only a few million years, which means
that Bigfoot could be a direct descendant. The fossils were
found in Asia near the Bering Land Bridge which would
explain the sightings in Asia and the related sightings in
the America’s.
