Shepherd University Renewable Energy Demonstration Site.
- $20,000 from WV Division of Energy (2008). Lead PI awarded funds to organize conference on solar energy and to promote alternative energy
applications in WV through web-based outreach and demonstration workshops.
- Inducted into Phi Kappa Phi Honor Society (2008)
- $20,000 from WV Development Office, Energy Efficiency Program (2006). Lead PI awarded funds to organize conference in conjunction with nationwide Alternative Fuels Odyssey and promote alternative energy applications in WV through web-based outreach
and demonstration workshops.
- $15,000 from WVEPSCOR Instrumentation Program (2005). Awarded funds to purchase Entovision imaging system for use in Shepherd University research, instruction, and laboratory applications.
- $30,000 from WVEPSCOR Innovations Program (2005). Co-PI on project to install renewable energy demonstration site on campus, to include the generation, inversion,
and storage of wind and solar photovoltaic electricity, a passive solar greenhouse with organic agricultural production, and a biofuel generator for transportation.
- $30,000 from WV Development Office, Energy Efficiency Program (2004). Co-PI awarded funds to serve as WV Million Solar Roofs representative, organize Alternative Energy Conference, and conduct educational and outreach aimed at promoting alternative energy
applications in WV.
- $225,000 from USDA National Research Initiative, CSREES (2003). Co-PI researching implications of interplanting peach trees bearing extrafloral nectaries for conservation biological control in apple orchards.
