Dr. Berenschot has been appointed Assistant Professor of Spanish in the Department of English and Modern Languages. In 1988, Dr. Berenschot received a BA degree with a triple major in Spanish, French and International Studies from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock. In 1990, he received a Master of Art degree in International Relations from Syracuse University, New York. In 1992, he received a Master of Art degree, in Latin American Studies from American University in Washington, D.C. In 1999, he received a Ph.D. in Latin American Literature from the University of Maryland in College Park. Prior to coming to Shepherd he was a Visiting Assistant Professor of Spanish at American University, a tenure track Assistant Professor at the State University of West Georgia and a Spanish Language and Translation instructor at the University of Maryland.
