Possible Topics for Your Semester Project:

1. Focus Group: Ask students (in person or through an e-bulletin board) how we can better serve them.
Design questions (50 points). Get a broad sample of students to the focus group. (100 points). Record their discussion (50 points). Analyze their comments (100 points).

2. Email Survey: Send email to former patrons of ShepOwl, asking for feedback.
Design survey (50 points). Administer survey to a broad sample (50 points). Compile and Analyze Survey (200 points).

3. Design 5 New Pages for the WC Web Page: handouts, links, tutor info., etc.
Notes based on Research of Topic (100 points). Content of Final Pages (150 points). Visual Design of Pages (50 points).

4. Create 5 New Handouts on Sentence-level Issues for the Writing Center.
Research of a Specific Sentence-level Issue (200 points). Handout Rules (50 points) Handout Exercises (50 points).

5. Create a Guide to Writing in another Discipline.
Design questions (50 points). Logs from Interviews with Faculty (100 points). Paper and/or Materials about that Discipline (150 points).

6. Write a 1,500 word essay, researching a topic in composition theory.
Annotated Bibliography (100 points). Essay (200 points).

7. Write three 500 word essays (one page, single spaced).
Follow the Analysis or Praxis Paper Assignment

8. A Project of Your Own Design (negotiated with Prof. Austin)
