Resources from the Federal Government - focus on nationwide trends:
- NAICS North American Industry Classification System - U.S. Census Bureau
- U.S. Department of Labor, Bureau of Labor Statistics web site. Specific resources include:
West Virginia - business outlook, job forecasts, etc.:
- Bureau of Business and Economic Research, West Virginia University. They do many reports and publications. One new publication of interest is "Eastern Panhandle Region Outlook 2007-2011" - there's a link to this on the main page in the "New Publications" section.
- Links to LMI (Labor Market Information) sites. Covers all 50 states and D.C. (District of Columbia).
- State Occupational Projections - 50 states and D.C. (District of Columbia)
- West Virginia Bureau of Employment Programs. See especially the links to "Occupational Data and Projections" and "Industry Projections."
- West Virginia Development Office. This site is somewhat more targeted to employers, but there is useful information about job trends. Look in the sections under Business that are labeled "Workforce Profile" and "Technology Assets."
- Workforce West Virginia. See especially "Research the Local Job Market."
