About the Class

Course Description

Topics from modern mathematics with particular emphasis on those with applications to computer science. Logic, sets, number systems and number theory, enumeration, graphs and trees, matrices, finite algebraic systems, and analysis of algorithms are examined.

Prerequisite: MATH 108 or MATH 154 or MATH 155

Course Objectives:

To understand concepts and correctly apply set theoretic notation and concepts

To learn counting techniques

To perform various operations with relations and functions

To provide an in depth understanding of graphs and trees

To gain an understanding of the combinational circuits
